LESCO Online Bill Check by Customer ID When You Do Not Have the Reference Number

Where to find your LESCO Customer ID
- On any LESCO bill. The Customer ID is printed in the top section of the bill, close to the reference number and the consumer name.
- On an online bill. If you once opened the bill with a reference number, the Customer ID is shown on that page as well. Note it down for next time.
- In payment receipts. Some banking and wallet apps show the consumer details after a bill payment.
- At the sub-division office. Staff can look up the connection with your CNIC, meter number or address.
Save both numbers. Take a photo of one bill or write the reference number and Customer ID in your phone notes. You will need them for bill checks, complaints, the tax certificate and online payments.
Customer ID and reference number: what is the difference?
| Reference number | Customer ID | |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 14 digits, followed by the letter U or R | Shorter than the reference number. The official search box takes up to 11 digits |
| What it describes | Billing batch, sub-division and your connection | Your account in the LESCO customer system |
| Used for | Bill check, online payment, complaints, load shedding lookup | Bill check and signing in to services on the LESCO website |
| Can it change? | It can change if your area is moved to another batch or sub-division | It normally stays with the connection |
Both numbers lead to the same bill. Use whichever one you have.
Can you check a LESCO bill by CNIC, name or meter number?
No. The official bill website only searches by reference number or Customer ID. It has no option to search by CNIC, consumer name, mobile number, address or meter number.
Be careful with websites or apps that promise a bill check by CNIC or name. They cannot get your bill that way, and you should not give them your CNIC or other personal details.
If you have lost both numbers
- Look for an old paper bill, a bank receipt or a payment SMS.
- Ask the landlord or the previous occupant.
- Visit your sub-division office with your CNIC and the meter number written on the meter.
- Call the helpline 118 and ask for help identifying the connection.
Once you have a number
- Open the bill and save it as a PDF.
- Register for LESCO’s bill SMS service so the bill reaches your phone.
- Keep the numbers in your phone for next month.
Bill not opening with your Customer ID?
- Make sure Customer ID is selected, not Reference No.
- Remove spaces and any letters, and check each digit against the bill.
- Try again after a few minutes. The bill site can be slow around due dates.
- A very new connection may not show a bill until the first billing cycle is complete.
- If it still fails, try the reference number with our LESCO bill check tool or use the LESCO complaint numbers.
