LESCO per unit price for domestic consumers

LESCO charges domestic consumers by slab. Your total units for the month decide the slab, and all of your units are billed at that one rate. The base rates below have been in force since February 2026. We checked the non-protected rates against LESCO’s official Bill Estimator in October 2026.

LESCO domestic unit rates by slab

Protected, 1 to 100 unitsRs 10.54Rs 200
Protected, 101 to 200 unitsRs 13.01Rs 300
Non-protected, 1 to 100 unitsRs 22.44Rs 275
Non-protected, 101 to 200 unitsRs 28.91Rs 300
201 to 300 unitsRs 33.10Rs 350
301 to 400 unitsRs 36.46Rs 400
401 to 500 unitsRs 38.95Rs 500

601 to 700 unitsRs 41.85Rs 675
Above 700 unitsRs 47.20Rs 675

These are base rates. FC surcharge, fuel price adjustment, quarterly adjustment, electricity duty and GST are added on top, so the real cost of a unit on your bill is higher than the figure in this table.

Lifeline, protected and non-protected: which one are you?

The same number of units can cost very different amounts depending on your category.

Lifeline

Very small connections with a sanctioned load of up to 1 kW and very low monthly use. They get the lowest rates and are exempt from several charges.

Protected

Domestic consumers who used 200 units or fewer in each of the last six months. They pay Rs 10.54 or Rs 13.01 per unit.

Non-protected

Everyone else. If you cross 200 units in any month, the connection is billed at non-protected rates until you again complete six months at 200 units or below.

How LESCO fixed charges work

Since February 2026 the fixed charge on domestic bills is linked to sanctioned load. LESCO multiplies the rate for your slab by the load in kW printed on your bill. A 2 kW connection that uses 350 units pays 2 x Rs 400 = Rs 800 as fixed charge for that month.

The slab that sets your unit rate also sets your fixed charge. A month with lower use therefore reduces both.

For time-of-use connections of 5 kW and above, the fixed charge is Rs 675 per kW and is applied to half of the sanctioned load.

LESCO peak and off-peak rates and timings

Connections with a sanctioned load of 5 kW or more have a time-of-use meter. Units used in the four peak hours cost more than units used in the rest of the day.

Frequently asked questions

What is the LESCO unit price today?

It depends on your slab. A non-protected domestic consumer pays from Rs 22.44 per unit for up to 100 units to Rs 47.20 per unit above 700 units. Protected consumers pay Rs 10.54 or Rs 13.01 per unit. Taxes and surcharges are added on top.

What is the rate for 300 units?

At 201 to 300 units the base rate is Rs 33.10 per unit, so 300 units cost Rs 9,930 before fixed charges, surcharge, adjustments, duty and GST.

What happens if I use 201 units instead of 200?

All 201 units move to the Rs 33.10 slab instead of Rs 28.91, and a protected consumer loses protected rates. Staying at or under 200 units saves a large amount.

Is the LESCO tariff different from other companies?

No. The government notifies a uniform tariff, so LESCO, FESCO, GEPCO, MEPCO, IESCO and the other distribution companies use the same domestic slab rates.

How often do LESCO rates change?

Base rates are usually revised once a year. Fuel price adjustment changes every month and the quarterly adjustment every three months, which is why two bills with the same units can differ.

Where can I see the official tariff?

LESCO publishes tariff information and a Bill Estimator on www.lesco.gov.pk, and NEPRA publishes its tariff decisions on nepra.org.pk.
